This workshop invites you to deepen your personal practice through journaling – timed writing – with a focus on your body/mind and its moment-to-moment sensations. We will use both active and supported
asanas (yoga poses) and breathing practices as the “raw material” for our observation and exploration.

The process is simple:

Observe. – your breath, your bodily sensations, your thoughts.
Write. Keep your hand moving. Don’t edit.
Practice asana.
Observe.
Write.
Optional: read aloud what you’ve written.
Repeat.

The workshop is facilitated by Zo Newell, author of Downward Dogs and Warriors: Wisdom Tales for Modern Yogis, and a longtime writer/reader and practicer of asana and yoga philosophy. Zo specializes in restorative and therapeutic yoga practices for women. She is a huge fan of Natalie Goldberg, author of Writing Down the Bones, Wild Mind, Old Friend from Far Away, and other books on the writing/meditating life. Zo is also an RTY-500 and a certified Level II Relax and Renew trainer. This workshop may be used
as teacher-training hours or CEU’s for Yoga Alliance, with the completion of a written assessment; talk with Zo if you are interested in this option.
