Connecting through the heart and soul via a yoga practice

Connecting through the heart and soul via a yoga practice

Attending a yoga class will help align the body and work the muscles, this is guaranteed. Another beautiful outcome of attending a yoga class is the meeting of like minded souls. We come across and can sometimes befriend people from very different walks of life. People we would not necessarily meet and unite with in our regular lives.

For me this is one of the greatest aspects of attending yoga classes. I have been coming and going from yoga classes for nearly 10 years now in my little town on the coast, Byron Bay. I have met so many different people and so many of them I now count as my close friends. We have a shared bond of the yoga and that is quite something.

People that choose to attend a yoga class mostly have a similar want, to work their body and after sometime of practicing yoga, they start to enjoy the quieting of the mind. This is a bond that is very specific and strong between people. My friends from yoga are a delicious group and I value them very much. We journey together, working the breath and clearing our minds. Meeting on the mat is sweet and I know we all feel it.

Many of these people exist in a world I do not enter. Accountants, circus girls, architects, internet gurus, lawyers, varied worlds, but not mine. Now, after sharing our yoga experience I have started to learn and slowly enter their existences. This is a gift and I feel I am widening my world, my world and my family's. Very, very nice.

Slowly it seems to me that my family and I are entering the world of yoga and bringing our own values and experiences with us. We are meeting and sharing with so many people and the world is shrinking and expanding at the same time. Yoga gives us the place to meet and bond, with our breath and our friends.

Developing an inner quiet is not something so easy in this busy world. We rush and juggle and fidget and fuss. Yoga helps us all slow down and recognise the goodness we all have in our lives and express the gratitude for it. This can only bring more of this goodness to us and our friends.

I feel now that the people I meet in yoga, and after, as we slowly reach out to each other are providing a backdrop of greater sweetness for myself and ultimately my family.

Yoga can help us to bond together as a greater unit and maximise the potential we all have to work together for a world filled with more love and definitely more hamony. My family is experiencing a different existence that they love and we all want to develop with our new friends.

The world is a big place right now but we all breath and that can be the connection we have. Work the breath, feel the person on the other side of the world doing the same and feel the connection. It is there for us, we need only tap into it.

My friend in London can be practicing at the same time as I am and it is up to both of us to send our light to each other. Practicing with a friend is not always with both in the same room. The energy can reach and the more I practice the more I feel I am connected to so many beings, all reaching for the sweetness we have, all working towards a kinder goal. Yes, that is the way for me.
