DAY FOUR - MORNING SESSION

I believe in god. I realize that . I think I have always believed in god but I didn't know what god was. So what I have decided now, at this age, 39.5 years on this green planet is god, I should clarify.

I have always thought that there was a higher power. That when I call, when I pray, when I ask for help and guidance , that there is someone there. It is only now that I have been practicing and studying yoga so studiously for the last 4 or 5 years that I have decided to be strong enough to call that person , that thing, that power, God. I think it is a him. I have no issue with it being a man. A lot of people want it to be a her. Women are strong, women are great, women are beautiful. We make babies within our bodies and then we deliver them by ourselves. There is no doubt in my mind that women are strong and powerful beings. But I don't need a woman to be a god. The god

Though sometimes I question if it wasn't a woman god having a cranky period day when she made women's breasts sag after breastfeeding. It doesn't seem right to me. If I were god it would be that on the last day of breastfeeding you would say "excuse me god, tomorrow I am stopping breastfeeding. Can you please bring my breasts back to where they were." I wouldn't be greedy. I don't want too much. But I would like them to sit up nice and high, like they did when they first developed. "Thanks God, I have loved feeding my baby but now it is time to stop".

I believe that god is in everything and everything is god. The lotus flower that sits beside me when I practice here today. The little man in the rice paddies, the beautiful ladies everywhere here in Bali. This country, they call it the land of the gods and they are right. It reminds me how lovely every day is, how present the beauty, the nature, the power we all have. We just need to look.

I believe that when we chant and practice yoga and pray that we are having direct discourse with god. He is listening and I believe that things happen when I am practicing regularly. He is watching and keeps an eye on me and my family. I am thankful. I think since I have been truly believing and holding hands with god my luck has changed. That I am more protected. I ask him for specific things and I think he listens.

This holiday with my sister, this experience I am thankful for. I believe all of us can talk to god if we want. All of us can sing to god if we want. We only need to try. We just need to reach out. He can hear us easily as there are so many of us that don't believe. There is plenty of space to be heard. I believe he has all the time in the world for the ones that do. I think god likes to have all the friends he can. I believe he is up for it. If we ask him for something, if we believe in him, the joy he feels in us shining our light on him allows him to do his best and lend a hand to help us.

That's what I think, I believe in god, do you?
